Message From Our Pastor
Every church does something well (be thankful); no church does everything well (be hopeful). You’ll find this axiom applies as much to our beloved church as any other. And yet it is just that—love for our church as well as love for our Savior—that keeps thankfulness and hopefulness in the proper tension for us. At First Evan we know Jesus always comes with His people attached, just as we know He will come again for His people. The church is highly valuable to Jesus. This is why our church’s vision, direction, and mission is catalyzed by doctrinal, moral, and relational priorities so we can glorify Jesus Christ and magnify His gospel in all of life until He comes.
The best things we have to offer you are not our services or programs or fellowship, though we have a superb staff and godly, generous members by God’s grace. The best thing we offer you is the gospel of Jesus Christ: His life for you, His life in you, His life with you, His life through you. We don’t know Him perfectly at First Evan but we do know He is perfect, and we want to grow more like Him. As Paul put it in Colossians 1:28: “Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.” Thanks for visiting our website. We hope to see you here on our campus this Sunday.
Grace and peace to you,
Dr. Cole Huffman
